
ABDUL RAZAK
Abd Razak Abdullah, born in 1968, the 5th child of 6 siblings. A native of Penang who dabbles in the world of cooking is making a name for himself in the food art scene of his homeland and can be categorized as an expert in cooking. He is well known for his creativity and his appearances on the silver screen and in local magazines for nutritional demonstrations and consultations. 15 years of experience in the food industry and served in several leading 5-star hotels. Chef Abd Razak's career started as a Kitchen Artist at a 5 star hotel named Shangri-La Hotel and Resort, migrated to Hong Kong for 4 years then he was offered a promotion to Executive Kitchen Artist at Paradise International Hotel and Resort. After going through and gaining various experiences in the hospitality field, he was offered by YPJ Hotel and Resort to be responsible for managing the marketing department at Micasa Hotel Johor Bahru, In line with the competence of Chef Razak, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Director at the YPJ Hospitality Institute to make the first hospitality and culinary course in the south of the country a success. In around 2002, he received an award from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia for the 2002 National Youth Award in the Skills and Innovation category (until now). Chef Abd Razak has made several presentations and international appearances and among them are at MAHA 2002, the Fruit Seminar at the Food Summit Singapore, the 'Millennium Food Diversification' Paper Presentation Singapore, the 'Direction of the National Agricultural Product' Paper Presentation at the Youth Skills Institute Negara, Pagoh 2004, International Halal Food Summit Singapore 2003-2006, Food for health (New Zealand Broadcast television) 2005 and he has also produced several books in various forms of writing and one of them is 'Art in Fruit Carving', 'Malaysian Western Cooking' and many more. He also contributes a lot of his works in local magazines and among them are the magazines 'Seri Dewi Keluarga', 'Saji', 'Rasa', 'NONA', 'Pa & Ma' and others. Chef Abd Razak is also no stranger to TV3 programs, various segments with him aired during the broadcast of 'Wantia Hari Ini', NONA, Disney Club and Rejama.
